Week 8: 10/12-16
Students refined and expanded their ideas for an Eco Challenge. Last week of the first quarter so a little time is devoted to finishing up loose ends and getting everything tidy for the next quarter.
Week 7: 10/5-10/9
Students began their Eco Challenge prep and community pitch ideas.
Week 6: 9/28-10/2
Novel ecosystems. Students had to document an example of a Novel ecosystem that is close to where they live.
Engineers Without Borders presentation this Friday. A warm thank you to the President of the UA chapter, Jodi Kreiner for taking time to talk to our students about the amazing work that they do! Also a huge thank you to our new friends of Sky Islands for setting this up, Crystal Ly and Ian Ulanday! Not only did they help organize this presentation but during the pandemic have been volunteering to help with keeping up with the Sky Islands site care.
Week 5: 9/21-25
Students presented their powerpoints this week.
Week 4: 9/14-18
Students sustainability expert research project. Students will focus on one particular topic related to sustainability and produce a report and powerpoint presentation to share with the class.
Week 3: 9/7-9-11
Students engaged in a community based padlet project this week. They were instructed to share and comment on our broad collective knowledge of sustainability. Please see the students work below.
Week 2: 8/31-9/4
Documentary by John D. Liu, Green Gold, and large scale watershed management and restoration work. Students targeted vocabulary and strategies to discuss large scale restoration.
Week 1: 8/24-28
Discussion on what is Nature and how do we define it? Students were given a writing prompt and shared their ideas. All work handed in via Teams.
